Meet Dr. Andy Wright
Serving the Upstate of South Carolina
Dr. Andrew Wright was born and raised in a small town in northwest Ohio called Grand Rapids. As a child, Dr. Wright spent his days climbing trees, riding his bike, and exploring the great outdoors. Like many children, he was not a stranger to bumps and bruises. But after one average fall at the age of five, young Andy began to complain of back pains. His parents, realizing it wasn’t right for a 5 year old to have back pain, took him to see their chiropractor. Within a couple of adjustments his back pain was relieved, and he was out on the playground again, content and pain free. This incident set a precedent Dr. Wright continued to follow while growing up and regular chiropractic visits became a staple of his well-being.
“Most people don’t realize that their back problems started when they were a child. Think of all the times you toppled when learning to walk or took a tumble off your bike when learning to ride. How many times did you take a spill while playing with friends or fall down playing sports and think nothing of it? It usually takes years for the spine to decay to the point where pain sets in, so the sooner you get your spine checked by a chiropractor, the better!”
It seems hard to believe that one could know their calling so early in life, but experiencing the relief that chiropractic care can provide led Dr. Wright to whole heartedly embrace that calling. He graduated with honors in pre-chiropractic studies from Bowling Green State University in the spring of 2007. Then, with the guidance of his chiropractor and mentor, Dr. Wright chose to attend Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. Under strong leadership, Life University was renowned for its integrity to its core principles and philosophy, something vital to a firm chiropractic foundation.
“I’ve always had a passion for helping and serving others, and I knew chiropractic was the best path for me to do that! I had several injuries from high school sports and martial arts, that without chiropractic care, would have left me with chronic pain. The worst was an injury I sustained during soccer. It prevented me from bending my knee without pain and if I tried to run, it only hurt worse. After several adjustments, I was running at full speed without pain! The results amazed me and I knew I wanted to share this gift with others.”
Equipped with enthusiasm and an inherent drive to succeed, Dr. Wright took every opportunity he could to enhance his knowledge and skill during his doctorate program at Life University. Early on, he was drawn to the gold standard Gonstead technique because of its thoroughness, specificity, and reputation for amazing results. He attended the Gonstead Club regularly, learning the intricacies of analysis and adjusting to produce the most effective results, ultimately choosing to obtain specialized certification in Gonstead. Dr. Wright graduated from Life University with Magna Cum Laude honors and with the Integrity and Citizenship award.
Returning home to northwest Ohio, Dr. Wright joined another chiropractor in Toledo, Ohio at a Gonstead chiropractic and holistic health clinic where he served for 3 years. During this time, Dr. Wright’s passion and expertise continued to grow and he was privileged to help hundreds of people reach new levels of health. For the year 2013, Dr. Wright was honored to be chosen the best chiropractor in the city as named by the community in the “Best of Toledo” competition. Now, succumbing to the call to return south, GreenLife Wellness was founded. The Wright family’s love of the great outdoors and their holistic approach to life made moving to Greenville an easy decision.
